4×4 Accessories are a lot of fun to put on your car, but they can be incredibly frustrating and expensive if you rush into it without putting some serious time into planning what you want. As I have said many times, the best four wheel drive is built, not bought. You can go and purchase a great four wheel drive from someone else, but it’s almost guaranteed that there will be a few things that you don’t like about it.ARB Photography by Offroad Images

What you need to do then is consider what you can do to change the car, to make it more reliable, comfortable and capable. There are so many options when it comes to 4×4 Accessories. Some of these are only to improve the looks, whilst others will make your car easier to take camping, and others will allow you to get to that camping spot without breaking or denting anything!

Some 4×4 Accessories include Suspension Lift Kits, Body Lift Kits, Bull Bars, Side Steps, Rear Bars, Snorkels, Electronic Chips, Exhaust modifications, GPS systems, slide out drawer sets, inverters, overhead consoles, CB Radio’s, sound systems and a huge range of other bits and pieces

The best tip that I can give when it comes to building the best car for yourself is to spend a lot of time researching and planning. Its common knowledge among the more experienced to put all of the heavy items on your car before touching the suspension, but its something that a lot of people miss. A little tip like that can save you several thousand dollars (when you purchase soft suspension and it sags because the car wasn’t weighed down then you have to sell it for a huge discount, realizing a big loss).

Consider exactly what you need the car for, what modifications are the most important (often the functionality and comfortableness should come first!)

You can have a lot of fun in a 4×4 even without spending huge dollars on 4×4 accessories, but you need to do it right.
