Make sure you get some money for your old van – visit a van breakers yard to realise the true value of your vehicle

With the value of second hand cars being so low, it is no surprise that many people write off their old cars, tow them to the scrap yard and just hope that they don’t have to pay anything for taking the vehicle. This is a thought process that is borne out of years of experience for most people – it has often been the case that it has been difficult to get rid of old cars that are no longer road worthy. The same can be said for vans too, but it has to be said that these days, thanks to the value of scrap metal, you can quite often find that you can be well paid by some companies for offloading your scrap vehicles onto them.

If you approach some van breakers you will find that you can receive a surprisingly large amount of money, even if your van is completely un-roadworthy. A lot of companies will actually travel some distance to come and collect your vehicle from you as well, and this is very handy if your van is no longer running or is illegal to be on the roads.

It seems somewhat far-fetched to some people to suggest that you can get good money for old vans but only the other day I came across a website which stated that we buy any old vans, regardless of age or condition. It would seem that the only thing that is stopping people making money back on any van is themselves.

It is well worth your while checking the internet to see if you can find a company that will take your van for scrap. You may not make a fortune, but it is bound to contribute to the cost of buying a new van.
