Author: The car launched by Honda in 2005 i.e. the new Honda civic is sets the benchmark for dependability and resale value. This is common as it is a Honda product. Besides these there are several new features which raise the expectations even more form this new Honda product. The various types of the Honda civic model ranges from- DX- value package, the HX- lean burn machine, to the LX and top of the line EX model. Considering the DX model, it is the basic civic vehicle.
The major features are 115 hp engine and basic comfort features. The high mileage lean burn car is your HX model. The lean burn means one can get 36 MPG city and 44 MPG highway as compare to LX and DX 32 MPG and 36 MPG. There is 36 MPG drop for EX model due to more powerful 17 horsepower engine. Body colored mirrors, sunroof, memory seats, and height adjustable seats along with illuminated ignition switch are the little things that are provided by the EX model of Honda civic.
The EX model wheels are upgraded to 15” alloys. The six speaker system with CD that has capability to read MP3 files provides excellent sound system to EX model. The 16 valve SOHC V-tech engine is the most important feature of the EX model and probably the reason for its cost. The double wishbone rear suspension is responsible for handling uniqueness. And the four wheel independent Honda civic suspension adds to the handling characteristics. All these factors allow good handling along with McPherson struts in the front tied to a high steering ratio. This provides an individual with a wonderful experience of fun driving. For safety purposes all models are provided with front air bags. Some models are also provided with front side airbags that adds to safety measures. In slippery and wet conditions like driving on a hilly area, the ABS system is provided in EX model that keeps the braking to a minimum level.
